East Lancashire Areas Local Optometric Committee represents all optometrists who practise in East Lancs and Blackburn with Darwen. The current commitee is comprised of: Clive Duerden (Chairman) , Stuart Ingleby (Vice Chairman), Mark Jinkinson (Treasurer), David Noblett (Secretary), Aftab Ahmed, David Cleasby, Jawad Malik, Nynisha Patel, David Gould and Ceri Smith-Jaynes.
The Committee works with the PCTs on all issues relating to NHS Optometric services in the area, including GOS sight tests, GOS regulations and terms of service, Clinical Governance and Enhanced Services.
The Committee is holding its AGM (click here to view details and agenda) on 1st May 2012 and all optometrists and dispensing opticians practising in either PCT are invited to attend. The Committee also meets about 4 times a year at Ewood Services. The next LOC meeting will be on Tuesday 12th June 2012.

Over the last year there have been many changes occurring in the commissioning of ophthalmic services and ELLOC will be representing you in negotiations with the clinical commissioning groups. There will be times in the negotiation process where we will need relatively quick feedback from our local optometrists / contractors on a variety of matters. ELLOC is creating an email database of local performers and contractors. We would like local performers and contractors to provide their email address.
