The LOC are currently working with the PCT on launching an ocular hypertension and stable glaucoma monitoring shared care scheme this Spring, 2013. Although it involves core skills, only accredited practitioners will be eligible to take part. To qualify, free CET approved training is provided by WOPEC - Glaucoma level 1 and level 2 training can be completed by virtual lecture on CD ROM followed by MCQs. Once passed, practitioners will be invited to a practical skills assessment (date and location to be confirmed) in order to join the shared care scheme. To obtain a WOPEC code for free access to the training CD ROM contact Newbank Optical on 01254 661234 and leave your contact details and email address.
The LOC is planning in-house CET events and these will be announced in due course. In the meantime, free video CET can always be found at the OT website.
